Please pray for my best friend's daughter. She is in the hospital clinging to life after receiving over 35 stab wounds and left for dead in a ditch. Her boyfriend did it. There is an APB/Warrant out on him right now. I'm in shock. I just can't believe this is happening to such a sweet and beautiful girl. She is only 18 years old.
To make a long story short, she witnessed a crime committed by her boyfriend (nice guy, huh?) and some of his gang-member friends. A week ago Thursday, the gangster "friends" decided she needed to be shut up and proceeded to beat her with a baseball bat. They broke her nose and she had to have staples put in her head, etc. She was healing just fine. They are guessing that what might have happened then, is that his friends told they boyfriend to "finish the job" to make sure he was loyal to them or something like that. He, once again, convinced her he didn't have anything to do with this beating she had to endure. She left with him in the middle of the night (she said they were going to see a friend of boyfriend's in Gardner, CO) and they were getting along just fine and then he started swirving all over the highway and said he should just kill both of them. Ember was screaming for him not to do that and tried to take control of the wheel. He got frustrated and said, "Fine, why don't you take the wheel." He pulled over to the side of the road (somewhere near Walsenburg, CO) and when they got out to switch places he attacked her, stabbing her in the lungs, chest, back, hand/fingers (probably when she tried to protect herself), stomach, pancreas and other places. He apparently used a knife from Ember's apartment -- a large serraded bread/kitchen knife. By the grace of God, he MISSED stabbing her heart, kidneys and other vital organs. She lost 2-3 units of blood. (it's a miracle she didn't lose more!) The doctors and policemen said they've seen people die very quickly with these type of wounds, so it's a miracle she's even alive. The police are pretty sure he thought she was dead. Apparently, a rancher found her, after she had laid there for nearly 5 1/2 hours, half-conscience, lying in a ditch, and called the authorities.
TONIGHT'S UPDATE:
I went to the hospital late this afternoon to check up on my friend's daughter, etc. There is so much I want to share, but I will only share bits and pieces at a time so you don't get too angry with me for taking up so much space! LOL Well, it seems she's doing a little better, but will have a very long road ahead of her. She's off the respirator, breathing on her own (good news!) but will be having these breathing treatments and a TON of physical therapy. So many mixed emotions that she and the family are feeling right now. They are still looking for the guy who did this horific thing to her. The offical count? 49 stab wounds. ZERO vital organs damaged. If that's not a miracle, I don't know what is! My friend is doing okay, too. She has her moments, that's for sure. She says that on the one hand she's amazed at how strong she's been holding up, and then the next minute she's sobbing over some small little cut on her daughter and all the tubes going in and out of her and just wants to weep, but knows if she starts, she won't be able to stop. Thankfully, the parents have been able to see her more often and security is pretty tight, but we discovered today it still has some loopholes that need to be fixed.
I want to share one story with you that she told her mom. This is so FAR OUT!!!! Anyway, as she was lying there, waiting to die, she told the Lord, "I'm thirsty, God." A few minutes later, she felt two raindrops on her mouth. She was able to lick her lips and moisten them. Then she said, "I'm so cold, God." An angel appeared. She recognized the angel -- it was her Dad. (Her Dad is alive). It started to rain some more. She felt two raindrops on her feet. This "fatherly" angel came to her with a cape and covered her body. It began to rain pretty hard, but she didn't get wet. (I thought of this cape as being angels' wings!) Soon another "spirit-being" came to see her. She recognized him as her grandfather (who passed on a few years ago) and he told her that it was not yet her time and to be strong. She saw other faces, but I can't remember who her mom said they were. Relatives that I don't know I think. After hearing this story, it just reaffirmed in my mind what I already believe about angels and how God uses them to protect us. I know not all of you believe in this, so I hope you don't mind my sharing, but I thought it was such a powerful story...I just HAD TO share! Please continue to pray for healing in her body, mind and spirit. She will need more protection now than she ever has, especially now that the gang members, including the (now EX) boyfriend knows she's still alive. Peace my friends....Thank you for your continued prayers and support. It means so much. Brenda
Thanks so much...I know my friend appreciates your prayers and support, as that's the last thing she told me tonight before I left. "Keep praying."
Peace...Brenda
